Why doesn't Key4 just resell web hosting space for other companies - it's much easier?
True - it is easier to just become a reseller,
and start generating commission based profit instantly for little
to no set-up costs.
However, there are 2 main reasons Key4 does not
simply resell accounts and decided to invest in its own powerful
network:
- In general, resellers are provided with very little functionality
and do nothing much more than bounce messages between people.
They have little control over the systems in place, what they
are selling, which direction they wish to take, and it is not
their responsibility to assess the long-term requirements of
their individual and collective customers.
- Key4 provides much more than just hosting services. Our entire
business is based aroung 2 key areas - Networks & the Internet.
The requirements in both areas saw us starting development of Business Central in November 2001, ready for first release in December 2002.
Our entire business is operated from within Key4 Business Central
- the nerve centre of our operations (Business Central has also
been designed for client use).
Our companies forward thinking and aggressive approach has seen
the requirement for Business Central, and in turn its own powerful
SQL® Server 2000 platform to operate from.
